Windows 10 Crashing, Unworthy and Disadvantaged

I still do not like windows 10, the main existing reasons to like the OS are its similarities to win7 and its smooth art style.

It still crashes and gets slow on too frequent occasion. The worst things about it are Microsoft interventions. The OS comes to consumers with mostly-unwanted bloatware just like a modern mobile device. The app store is increasingly impressive but is relatively slow and under built.

Settings are moved, the file explorer is cluttered to dissuade newbies and non-experts further. The search bar, although removable with effort, takes up far too much space and still uses the old partially-blind indexer.

Cortana is a flop, hidden to most by a totally deniable agreement to send Microsoft all of your data usage and activity. When shutting down Cortana and then disabling your microphone with a utility, many win10 machines crash.

The Cortana software is running in the background, whilst closed, after being told not to turn on, using the microphone under an unsupressable activity, the 9th gen OS code is not complete enough to prevent the microphone request from confusing the machine into a crash.

One benefit over win7, aside from dx12, is a cleaner theme that emulates the simplicity of Apple GUIs. The new settings hub is exhaustive and - shockingly - has similar options locatable inside of multiple utility sections but clearly improves accessibility for laymen.

Hardware manufacturers are unable to rewrite certain driver + software distros for legacy devices. So, although Windows 10 upgrades are free and pleasingly migrated, some previous functionality is likely to be unavailable on upgraded machines.

Although applause is reasonable, there us still much cause for concern over win10 as a new standard. Although it certainly is an upgrade, with new features, win10 is hardly better than 7.
