How To Connect a Dummy AP (Repeater)

Here are some steps to make sure of that will help fix problems in connecting a repeater AP.


  • Have the same network name as the original router
  • Disable DHCP on the dummy router
  • Set default route to the original router's IP
  • Try WPS autoconnect
  • Allow ARP and IPv4 forwarding on the original router
  • Make sure that the original router has a 'visible' SSID
